Engineering and Product, with a touch of Design

Hi, I'm Stefania —
always building with a smile.

Senior frontend engineer building at the intersection of product, design, and AI.

Currently untangling building from scratch in various side projects.

About

Eight years in. Still curious, still learning.

I've spent the last eight years building scalable, high-performance web applications — usually somewhere between product, design, and, increasingly, AI. I like the parts of engineering that don't always show up on a roadmap: developer experience, technical documentation, technical debt, reading a pull request twice before trusting it, mentoring the person who just joined, asking why before how.

Outside of sprint cycles, I write about frontend engineering — and engineering in general — the wins and the lessons, at Stef's Dev Notes. I also build small side projects: an app that turns appreciation into a slice of cake, a retrospective tool that captures notes continuously through a sprint, and a digital terrarium that grows with your habits and emotions.

How I Work

What working with me looks like.

I own the outcome

Give me the problem, not just the ticket. I'll find the path, flag risks early, and ship — you shouldn't have to chase me for status.

Remote, async, Madrid-based

I work async-first, with overlap for the calls that matter. Decisions land in writing, so the team isn't stuck waiting on me to wake up.

AI-assisted, not AI-replaced

I reach for Claude Code and friends to move faster on the parts that don't need me — so I can spend the saved time on the parts that do.

Curious over comfortable

I read the pull request twice before trusting it, ask why before how, and I'm usually building some small, slightly strange side project on the weekend.

Experience

Where I've built it

05/2025 — 04/2026 · Stockholm, Sweden · Remote

Senior Frontend Developer, RELEX Solutions

Evolved a vibe-coded concept into a scalable, production-ready feature; led two complex frontend epics end to end; onboarded a new engineer; joined the fire-chief rotation to debug beyond my own domain.

09/2021 — 05/2024 · Bucharest, Romania · Remote

Software Engineer, Web — Cognizant Romania

Designed a micro-frontend architecture for a large-scale app; worked in a Lerna monorepo across a 50+ engineer team; kept quality high through testing and reviews; integrated payments, analytics, and error tracking.

12/2020 — 08/2021 · Bucharest, Romania · Remote

Frontend Developer & Designer — Code of Talent

Built frontend architecture for a new product, simplified onboarding with a guided product tour, and ran Agile ceremonies across a cross-functional team.

2017 — 2020 · Copenhagen, Denmark

Earlier: Easytranslate, Grandhood, Wiredelta

Three years cutting my teeth as a frontend developer and designer across product teams in Copenhagen.

A newsletter about engineering judgment in an industry obsessed with speed

This is where I think out loud about frontend engineering and engineering in general. The code I'm writing, the career lessons I'm learning, and all the invisible work that actually matters, shared one small note at a time.
